Capturing "Promotions" On Your Resume

I’ve seen a few people ask this question across a few mediums, so thought it would be helpful to share a preferred way to demonstrate promotion within a CV/Resume.

As always, there is not just one way only, but this is the way I’ve seen work most successfully and use within my own resume.

The general concepts are to embed the growth within the resume section itself, and not waste real estate by indicating "was promoted to this role” when it can be just be shown. Other great tips are to use the same bullet placement for the same achievement types that show continuum growth, and to ensure that the words being used denote the level of seniority, impact and scope

As you can see, in this example it’s very clear that the person has been promoted twice, each of the bullets are reflecting the same responsibility component, but showing measurable differences like financial targets and descriptors indicating the level of ownership and judgment the role had.
