I hired Dan to deliver six HR Business Partner 101 trainings, and we designed the curriculum together from the ground up. He took a thoughtful assessment of where I was, what I needed, and what would actually be valuable to learn. Every course was incredibly well thought out and exactly what I was looking for.About halfway through one session, Dan noticed I wasn’t as engaged and correctly identified that he had lost me a few themes earlier. We paused, repositioned, and he even booked an additional 20 minutes afterward to make sure I got what I needed. The fact that he cared more about the quality and relevance of the content than the clock or the money really stood out. I still see him as a mentor to this day.

I was part of Dan’s very first cohort, and honestly, other than him apologizing and being a little nervous at the start, you never would have known it was his first time. The content was absolutely incredible. Discussions regularly went over time, and Dan would always stay afterward to continue engaging with us.The way he thinks about HR is completely different from SHRM or HRCI. I was part of Cohort 3, and I attend a lot of HR sessions hoping to learn something new or build credibility with other practitioners. Most of the time it feels like everyone is just copying and pasting from ChatGPT.Dan’s stories, the prompts he gave us, and the way he challenged our thinking were completely different. It was the first time in a long time that I found myself saying, “I’ve never done this before.” That alone made the experience worth it, Im a tough grader and while I wasnt quite head over heels like he promised, he knows his stuff, he thinks about things in very different ways and he wants to keep HRBPS engaged, informed and armed to do their jobs. I am definitely trying a few of his suggestions!

This book is incredible!!! I feel so seen and heard! Dan does a phenomenal (if not a bit lengthy) job explaining core concepts and principles that all HRBPS need to hear. The methods of how to think about companies was fascinating and simple. The way he draws conclusions is really demonstrating his expertise. I cant wait for the next chapters!

I've been in HR for almost 15 years, mostly very administrative, very traditional government and nonprofit work. Honestly, it had gotten boring. I started following Dan’s content and when he began talking about HR Business Partner work, I was immediately hooked. I couldn’t believe this role even existed.
